| There are several talk radio people covering this right now, even as of today.
Personally, I have nothing to hide, and I sure as hell am not going to blow up an airplane. I don't like the idea of having to submit to a full body scan like that, and sure don't like the idea of being groped in the airport, even after passing through said body scans, all of which is now happening btw.
Having said all that, I think their efforts with the scanning is misguided on several points.
The captain or control of the plane is WAY MORE dangerous than some jack ass with a bomb. What's to stop a captain from turning that plane into a giant missle?
As proved AGAIN recently, what goes into cargo is screened at a much lower level, if AT ALL. Way easier to send a bomb with some sort of timer through the cargo.
And finally, and I'm gonna get flamed for this, but I don't a give a shit. Check everyone with a hhhccckkk in their name, check em twice if they have a beard, and check them three times if their clothing is loose fitting. Those are the sons of bitches that are trying to blow up planes, not the average American going to Tulsa to visit granmama.
Full body scans are only a part of the equation, and thank the good Lord that the TSA has to go before a government panel tomorrow, and answer a lot of tough question about this and the recent cargo bombs. I think that TSA is overstepping their bounds with the body scans, and that the efforts should more be with tightening cargo security and actually training people to spot possible problems rather than relying on machinery to do their job for them. _________________________________________________ If people from Utah are Utahns, who are people from Tampa?

| The TSA method is nothing more than Kabuki theatre with a side order of porn for those perverts at the TSA. Lots of posing and posturing to make the masses feel like something is being done but the things that matter are being ignored...like the fact that it's ONLY ADULT MALE MUSLIMS that have perpetrated these acts in the past. America needs to take a lesson from the Israelis and El Al and learn to spot the truly hell-bent on destruction and leave the rest of us alone.
I used to fly a lot but will not until my rights are restored. |

| Me, my wife, and my 2 kids (11 and 12) are flying to Hawaii for christmas. My wife and I agree that whatever line gets us on the plane fastest is the way to go, be it a scan or rub search. I could give a shit less if some dude likes the way a black and white profile of my junk looks. Just get me on the plane and and I'll take a crown and coke please.
Something blows up, we clamor for more security. More security, we cry about our civil rights. It is silly to me. Bottom line, they are tasked with keeping us safe, and we don't have any unrestricted right to fly so we have to play ball. |

| IMHO, this is being done for one or two reasons, and safety is NOT one of them! They are doing this to distract the masses from something the government is doing that they want to fly under the radar, or they are doing this to get the masses to be willing to give up personal liberty one scan/pat down at a time. _________________________________________________ People can fight a tyranny imposed by an outside force. | The thought that comes to my mind is "Those that would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither" and I will take the liberty to expand on the quote and say eventually will have neither liberty or security. |

| I learned something pretty interesting today. The act that created the TSA in 01, only obliged airports to use them for two years. After that period, they can opt out, and hire a private contractor.
The TSA is doing a really shitty job, Americans need the private sector to step up to the plate. _________________________________________________ If people from Utah are Utahns, who are people from Tampa?

| I have a couple great ideas on this Airport Security stuff...1) lets go back to pre 9/11 security at the airports so folks are happy and no longer potentially subjected to body scans and 'intrusive' pat downs 2) do away with flying all together and just drive to the destination or take a train or ship to visit the distant family or go on a business trip. I'm an American DAMNIT how dare the government (TSA) subject me to an intrusive humiliating pat down and also the chance of yet another humiliating black and white body scan/photo of my naked body...just too much for an American to endure ohhhh the mental anguish... I'll have to be prescribed a drug to cope ...as I'm so deathly to go through anything that remotely makes it a titch inconvenient or uncomfortable as I'm an American and above all pat downs and body scans...so because I'm an American the government is violating my rights and liberties by having me go through this. |

| K2, are you that shallow? Are you really so ignorant that you think EVERY action taken by the government is warranted? Tell me, how the HELL does groping a toddler make it safe to fly? How many terrorists have been stopped by the TSA doing these sexual assaults and porn photos? If the TSA were serious about safe skies, they would look at how Israel does it, they have faced far MORE terror threats than the USA could ever imagine, and they do things much different. For starters, they PROFILE. SInce the supposed goal of the TSA is keeping us all safe, shouldn't they employ the MOST effective means of deterring terror acts? Don't give the lameass excuse of profiling being a violation of civil rights, as these body searches and porn photos as as well, so why not do what actually works? _________________________________________________ People can fight a tyranny imposed by an outside force.
