My daughter and I went sturgeon fishing 14 may to 16 may. We both caught our first sturgeon she got one about 6' long and I got one about 4.5-5 ft. If you have never caught one you don't know what your missing. When the kid caught hers he jumped shortly after the hookset and did a nice little tail dance and Larissa screamed "Daddy it's a shark fish!" I tried to include pics but I guess their to big for this site.

psot your pics on either photobucket or imageshack then post the your photo here from photobucket or image shack, (without the spaces) this makes the process much easier and it doesn't use memory on this website.

After reading your report about them on UWN and after reading Doc Essox's reports those things look like a brutal way to spend a day...... What kind of setup do you use to catch those beasts? ie line weight reel size hook size etc...

50LB line with a slider above a barrell swivel below the swivel a 2' leader of 25lb test and a 12oz weight tied to the leader. Another leader of 50lb tied to the slider with a 6/0 circle hook with no barbs. We used morts, which are dead rainbows ranging from 6"-8" long, and we also used squids purchased from an oriental grocery store. Plotty when I/we start planning the next trip up which I hope is soon I will let you know and you would be more than welcome.
